FIREFLY CEYLON was born from a legacy that sparkles as brightly as the gemstones we cherish. Our story begins at the heart of Sri Lanka’s gem mining capital, Ratnapura District: a land where the earth itself holds treasures beyond imagination.

Since the 1960s, my family has been deeply connected to the world of gemstones. My father, a dedicated gem merchant, built his business, Jayasilumini Gems, with a passion for discovering nature’s finest creations. He hails from Nivitigala village in Ratnapura District, a region renowned for its gem mines, vibrant gem auctions and trading traditions. Growing up, I watched him carefully and sustainably mine using traditional methods, then auction and trade these precious stones, always reminding me that each gem carries a story, a journey from deep within the earth to becoming a treasured piece of art.
